The Council of Ministers Resolution No. (476), issued on March 10, 2020, stated that the National Competitiveness Center should establish a (Laws and Regulations Support Unit) within the Center to have among its tasks the following:
- Establishing and supervising the unified electronic platform to receive the feedback of the public and government entities.
- Preparing consultation forms, evaluating the effects, and circulating them to government entities.
- Providing feedback about the public consultation results to the draft laws owners if they request it.
- Preparing and organizing working sessions, training courses, meetings, seminars, and conferences specialized in the unit's field of work.
- Communicating with government entities to introduce the unit, its objectives, and its services.
- Raising awareness and spreading the culture of public consultation, and how people need to participate and give feedback on draft laws.
- Signing memoranda of cooperation with relevant government and the private sector to exchange experiences and enhance the concept of public consultation.
